Hi guys,

I'm working in a effect which a have to change a sunny day into night.

This shot contains:

1. A building
2. A lot of people walking in front of this building
3. Some cars stopped on the street in front of the building
4. A sunny day (Blue sky, a bright sun, few clouds in the sky....)

How can I add some lights on the windows of the bulding?
How to take off these cars on the street, without eraser some people?
What kind of operations in "color correction" should I have to do? Just contrast and brightness? Levels?

My file is a AVI 720/486. I am using Combustion 3.0 and Shake 3.0 for this job.

Any help will be great.
Best regards.

This shot honestly sounds like it would be easier if you just went back and reshot it at night....

1) you will have to rotoscope the people to keep them in the shot..

2) you will have to grab still of their legs, or other looping sections of when their legs are visible, to replace the sections you remove from behind the cars

3) For the lights, start with a solid slightly warm/yellow color, and then add details, like blinds, or curtains to them. then comp this into the windows.

4) replace the sun, with the moon.

5) reduce the saturation of the shot, and tint it towards blue/cyan. Anything not blue/white, should be almost black (within reason)

Best of luck.

you can try this:

1) duplicate the clip
2) play with the diffusion mode on the duplicated clip
3) add a color correction operator to the duplicated clip
and try to get the look you want.

play with those parameters you'll maybe get something interesting depending on the original shot.

good luck

**sorry for my english :P
