View Full Version : annoying wacom driver popup at startup.
Rabid pitbull 01-23-2004, 04:02 PM I have recently done some disk management, and due to this I have uninstalled then reinstalled wacom drivers for my graphire tablet. I now have a annoying window that appears at startup, it is called wacom driver. It goes away seconds later, and the tablet functions fine, just annoying....
I am running w2k sp4, and the driver is version 478-6u. It is for the graphire tablets only. Any Idea how to get rid of this thing?? It is not caused by a startup file, as i already checked with regcleaner.

so HKLM\SYSTEM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENT VERSION\RUN:
has no entries in there relating to the device? check that manually.

I get that in the upper-left corner as well, not really a whole window but just a tiny title bar that says "Wacom". It goes away within a second and isn't very big, how can it be all that annoying?
Anyway it is part of the drivers so if you somehow kill it I don't think all of the tablet features will work properly.

I get the same thing. Well knowing this, i won't reinstall the drivers, again.

I don't get it, how is that annoying?? doesn't that disappear after few seconds??? well you need those so that ur tablet works properly. I rather spare that "anooying" seconds than have my wacom play up.

Hey, I dont know if this will be true for a tablet, but since you have win2k sp4 i assume it will. Try going to run (windows key + r) and type msconfig. go to the startup tab and see if you see anything related to wacom.

I know it is a bit trivial .... but it bothers me when computers change this way. I have had other wierd things happen and sometimes it was a result of a virus.
Anyway I did find a solution, there was a switch in the bios to support legacy usb devices. I had it set wrong and it would automatically search for devices instead of just accepting them.
Computers oh what fun.
