I don't know why but my create shatter doesn't work :(

First I create a poly sphere, then I go to effects/create shatter, I reset the settings and apply.......but nothing happens ?!

shouldn't that create a new object with some more parts?!

it should. is there an error message in the command line ???

command line said nothing but the script editor, I had to delete my history, now it works fine
