Now I can see. And it looks quite nice.
I would improof the reflections and enviroment maps (if used) a little bit.
I think you can do the metal material better :thumbsup:

Working in the Detroit area everything you work on is automotive related.
I have a connection to get the data files, The are being used for Chryslers internal technical training application.
All Work is done through a local Marketing Agency.
who long did it take you too model? months? lol great job looks really good. :beer:

That's cool. Did you have to do any work in the conversion or did it import directly in? How much did you have to model or modify?
I think a small, grainy bump map on the aluminum parts would help...like the alternator, the heads, brackets, etc. And a fresnel effect on the diffusion channel will make it look more like metal.
Looks pretty cool! What's the poly count on this thing?

You didn't model this though, right? We are working on a graphic of an F-22 Raptor and we converted one of Lockheed's models.

When the engine was originally brought into Max it had many flipped faces. There were a ton of extra vertices as well.
Geometry reduction as well as smoothing was the first steps in getting this model into shape.
Objects=658
Vertices = 2398368
Faces = 1687069

Same with us....the original models are HUGE! It takes a long time to clean them up.
Although all we needed was the body of the F-22, the model came complete with all the internals....took a long time

What Application do you do your 3d in?

when you deal manufacturers you should tell them what you need. Usually they will send you the whole assembly file because the engineer doesnt want to export only what you want. So what you need to do is factor 2 studio days for clean up on your rate. You will see how fast they will send only what you need....el diablo

Very nice,
I wish I had waited and not bought the 02 RAM 1500,
I guess I'll have to trade up to the 03 or and HD with the new hemi.
Nice Mod! :thumbsup:
Is it tough converting from catia to max?
Out of interest, do you have any other angles or cross sections?
Your image is in an aritcle out at the dealerships.
Hey do you mind if I post a link to your pic on a Dodge truck forum?

I have no other angles of the engine yet.
Original image was rendered at 4000x3000 and printed out on a high end cannon color printer. It is a sample piece of art.
My intentions are to animate the Hemi engine running with a ghosted engine block showing the internal components operations.
