Hi!
I´m currently using Cinema4D v8.5 including MOCCA as my 3D-applikation. My Question is. Does anybody else use this? Please, if so, tell us your experience in rigging. Is it better to use the old hard IK for the rig or better with softIK. How doe U setup the rig and so on and so on.
I am asking this because I really need help in Character-Rigging in C4D. For example I cannot achieve a correct shouldersetup.
I´ve got an Idea to easily animate characters in C4D but with my lack of experience in correct rigging for simple tasks (one rig for all: Walking, running, lifting arms or maybe even a box, greater would be if the rig can make a bridge, that means hand and feet at the ground, stomach pointing into sky) my idea is worth nothing. So please share your experience and post them and links to dive into the subject on my specific platform.
Maybe let´s call this thread Tips and Tricks and Q and A for rigging in Cinema4D. I´m hoping to get an answer...

Here a thread where you can read about my idea:

Hey There Tonfarben,

Yes i am doing Ca in C4D. I am also developing a system that will make CA native to C4D based on it's hard IK system.

I went up the MOCCA road and was dissappointed. It was not fully developed and was really not a great tool for strict keyframing animation.

It is a great simulation system but not for use as a core CA solution (don't know how many nights I banged my head against the wall trying to get that thing to behave correclty).

So I set out to make my own system. I hope to be releasing it by weeks end. here are some animations done by Slouchcorp over at the portal

These were done by someone with no CA experience whatsoever.

Keep an eye out at the www.c4dportal.com over the next week. we will be launching soon over there.
