View Full Version : Colour Theory
Mattrne 01-22-2004, 10:14 AM Can anyone suggest any books I can get hold of which go into how places like Disney choose what colours to use on a character. I specifically want to find out how to choose colour schemes for hero characters/villain characters.
Hope that makes sense!
Cheers,
Matt.

makes perfect sense! hell its a whole class at AI.
posm i dont think disney books are what mattme is looking for.
i think what your looking for is books on combining colors in appealing ways. i havent read any specifically, but my friend uses "Elements of Color" by Johannes Itten for his class.

I've been looking for a book like that for some time as well, but whenever I pick up a book on color theory it's usually much too theoretical. Rarely do they go into detail for practical usage and if they do, it's pretty vague.
I'd recommend studying the Disney movies (as well as other movies) and their characters... maybe noting down each characters colours and associated character traits and then going on from there...
