View Full Version : modelling cars:blueprints
szyszek80 01-22-2004, 09:33 AM I have a quick question: is it possible to make a good model of a car when one only has 3 view blueprints? (without the top one) any advice on how to do that?
I want to model the new Opel Vectra GTS but I only found 3 view blueprints..

Just try and model it, then perfect it just by eye. If you like a car, and cant find blueprints, maybe just some research and a good eye will help.
could you post the type of car and the blueprints, that might help

The car is the latest Opel Vectra (preferably the GTS version :)
Here's a link to the blueprint:

in a lot of car modeling tutorials they give the blue prints to download with it.. I'm making an auditt right now using blue prints I found in a tutorial. It was in google and pretty easy to find... often in google images you type the car you want with blue prints and often it is right there... good luck..
p.s. by the way try 3dtotal.com, there are a couple modeling car tutorial....

given the fact that the blueprints you have (with 3 views) are of relatively good quality (better than a lot I have seen). You should not have too much trouble figuring out the top, even though you don't have a top view, per se.
You might want to locate a PHOTO of the car that may give you an insight to what the top would look like. It's just points afterall
good luck
