Quote from Animated news:
"The British Academy Of Film And Television Arts, known more succinctly as BAFTA, just announced the nominees for this year's awards, which will take place in Leicester Square, the heart of cinema in London, on February 15th. The British equivalent to the Oscars, the awards often point towards who might pick up the big prizes in that ceremony, as many of the voters are members of both academies. Nominations featuring animation and/or special visual effects this year are headed up by The Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King, which has 12 potential awards under its belt (including Best Film, Director, Adapted Screenplay, Music Score, Visual Effects and Supporting Actor, for Ian McKellen), and was just beaten out by Cold Mountain with 13 nominations.

Other nominations feature Big Fish as Best Film, Director, Adapted Screenplay and Production Design, and Best Actor (Johnny Depp), Costume Design, Make-up, Visual Effects and Sound for Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl. Pure animation is represented by Finding Nemo in the Original Screenplay category, Belleville Rendezvous (The Triplets Of Belleville) and Spirited Away as Film Not In The English Language, while the Short Animated Film shortlist sees nominations for Dad's Dead, Dear Sweet Emma, Jojo In The Stars, Nibbles and Plumber.

Finally, the Orange Film Of The Year features Finding Nemo, Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl, Terminator 3, X Men 2, The Return Of The King and The Matrix Reloaded as potential winners in the public-vote category. The ceremony will be shown live on BBC One, on February 15th"
