Very cool proton, keep the videos coming! :bounce: I'm buying Lightwave 8 for sure, but I still wanna see as many videos showing off features as possible. :)

Man! Hair, and dynamics and such have come such a long ways
in the last 12 to 15 years... And especially in the last 3 or 4!

Maybe I'm like a total geek or something but I get chills running
down my spine everytime I see something totally new or some-
thing that reforms a process from taking days into hours or as
in this case minutes.

Nice usage Hurley! Thanks for the post Proton!

LOL @ Facial!

The hair movment looks really nice. I second a video (or quick HTML tutorial page) showing the setup.

Keep posting Proton! The more the better!

Stop, stop, stop.my brain hurts on this one! So those are normal hair splines animated using ClothFX? No HDInstance, no Sas or anything else? Theres a ton of hair on her and each strand looks like it beahves on its own. How long will something like this take to setup? It looks like days worth of work but me thinks minutes to an hour or two. Details, I want details. I'm totally loving this.
Hey N2Christ. I think this could solve your grass blowing in the wind without Sas!!!

I don't know if we can do that kind of long hair with lw8 without Sasquash...But im sure we can do the outrageous pilosity with Saslite.

You're most likely confusing it with the character that is in the animation (as it has been in many demonstrations) rather than the current animation itself.

Pdrake,

Perhaps you use Safari, so use Internet Explorer to see the animation...

thanks, i do use safari. i also tried exploder, no worky. this isn't a browser issue, it's a codec issue. the avi codec used is pc only.

It's not PC only, it worked fine on my mac at work (OS X.2) You probably just need the techsmith codec:

Is collision taken into account? Such as do the splines create invisible collision spheres on each vertice? It was a huge problem in previous versions of LW...? This is for Proton...

I dowbloaded all of the demo videos from newteks site, but I am missing a codec to play them. Will someone please tell me what codec I need and where to find it??

Actually its not PC only. I have watched every one of these videos on a MAC with OS X 10.2.8. :applause: You just have to have the Techsmith codec installed, not a big deal.

Thats weird. Although I do have the latest DivX codec installed on my MAC also, so thats probably why it works for me. :)

That was an excellent video, Proton, but does this have the proper collision with vertice on polygon detection?
