hello all! its my first post here in CGtalk. I love this site. Its really useful. I just started learning 3DMAX myself. I came across this website. And I was amazed by how nice the colors were. I would like to learn how I would start by making the lighting and background for this.

The Background and colors is simple.

Here is the website..

www.billybussey.com

I have no idea of the background how did he make everything all white? The Enviroment and the Floor. Is there a way to do that?
And also did he use some sort of Skydome effect?

Where would i position the lights?
And What kinda lights would i Use?
And how many shoud i use?
How can i get that Background...is it just white?
And whats the floor material?

I tried to make it but i get too many shadows from the falloff light.

Please Thanks in advance!

Cheers
Ken

I'm not a MAX user but most of guys are using Brazil or Final Render to get this look by using SkyLight.
If you have this renderers check them , and search for tutorials, I bet there is tons. Last, you could ask in MAX forum here , I'm sure most of MAX users know how to do it.

Good luck.

Edit: here is a cool tut:

if you have max5 or above you don't really need a 3rd party rendering plugin for a simple skylight. to use max's own advanced lighting plugin, go to Rendering ---> Advanced lighting--->select Light Tracer, next in your scene go to the light panel add a skylight, that's it hit render, oh and you might need to add a key light, a spotlight with a multiplier of 1.3 to 2.0 should do.

Brazil (www.splutterfish.com) is $1,200 for the artist bundle and another $750 for a renderfarm bundle. There is a public beta out (it is a beta so many of the features in the full version are disabled in the beta), but the beta will let you do that skylight look you want.
here's a link to that beta version:

http://www.the3dstudio.com/(4kqrdo55dn2kcqnihrmzg4aq)/tutorials.aspx?id_tutorial=121

Its the same effect I want.

I hope this Tuturial can help someone.

But thank you for everyone that has helped me in my replies.

Cheers,
Ken:)
