View Full Version : Gradient Texturing

I've been having trouble figuring out Lightwave's surface editor - particularly with gradients. Is there a way to use a gradient in the colour channel with standard projection mapping (ie. planar, spherical, UV)? I found a weight map option, but this seems to be quite a bit of work for a simple gradient.

Any help is appreciated.

I dont remember if this option was on LW 7.0, but on 7.5 u have distance to pivot point (on X,Y or Z) option - work like planar projection.
Unfortunatly i dont found any ather projection method - suck :annoyed:

I'm most familiar with Cinema 4D's SLA (Smells Like Almonds) shaders - which let you use gradients among other things in any way you can think of.

I was stunned to find that lightwave was so limited in this regard. Oh well, I'll try your suggestion - guess it's better than nothing
