View Full Version : Still - "Cupholder"
muyyatin 01-17-2004, 08:50 AM Here's a highres of my modeling so far on an internal computer cupholder (hehe) I might add a toaster etc. It would be great if people could give some crits for what on the model needs improving (keep in mind i'm going to use displacement shaders, so mini-stuff will be included later). Modeled in maya, testrenders in PRman

It shows up if you hit the link, then reload, apparently... if anyone could drop a note on how to fix this, that would be awesome!

The reload deal is a geocities thing. No getting around it, save getting a different host. I would also suggest not posting your images in TIF format, as that tends to be a huge file and geocities only gives you so many bytes an hour. Use Jpeg or Gif. Then hopefully we can see it and tell you what we think. (-:

I'm checking out the list of free or dirt cheap web hosting stuff, and btw here's a jpeg version: http://www.geocities.com/muyyatin/cupholder01.jpg

Great idea! Also very good modeling so far. Everything seems a little too round, though. The holder itself especially. Have you used any reference for the part that flips down? Also, I think there should be a foam part opposite the part that flips down.
Great work so far, though. (-:

I took a quick look at the cupholder in my parent's car, it's like the flip-down part, but mine definitely will need some more work. Looking at it I see what you mean. Those are done with subdivs, so I'll fool around with creases, or maybe just completely remodel it. I like the foam idea too ;) Well off to make those changes, thankyou for the crits!
