Nice modeling so far... looks like a killer whale to me ;)
"Free Willy!"
Thanks Stephan :)
I have been modelling all day so I invoked another of my texturing styles "DTSOBFBIOT" Decided to sit on big fat bum instead of texturing...hahhaaaa :D
I could not believe how complex the head and beak area of a Killer whale is :hmm: .....still a bit of tweaking to do,then I will texture properly and launch it :)
Guys what sort of texture would a K whale have?.....I know its all shiny and specular.with white patches on black,I have ref for that, but do you think I should put a tiny amount of noise in the bump channel?,what kind of bump would you suggest?...it cant be just totally smooth can it?
Also do you think I should use dark blue dark greys and black?
Thnx

I would give him a totally smooth skin... maybe some scratches from fights ;)
Coming allong nicely!
Found a site with some info that might be useful in modelling :D

whichever nousie you do use, make sure that it is pretty smooth with sort of stranded small but high bumbs. so mostly grey (or black, with occasional white dots.
Thanks guys  ......cheers for the links Grey :D

Thanks Tkay and welcome

Kiwi, the only thing that bugs me about the model is what appears to be a little chin?
The texturing job is coming along nicely :D
Ya I agree Grey :)
The thing was they have this little beak, and I just could not get it to look the way I wanted it too.As for the chin there is an undulation in that part also :)
I would post some ref material, but it is not mine to post so if you are interested just go to webshots.com and type in Killer whales and you will see what I mean.
I might have another go at the jaw though :)
