chrispo 01-16-2004, 03:03 PM I've tried 5 times - been on with newtek and still no help. Im using winxp with lw installed to c:\lightwave.
I downloaded the patch and - installed to default location c:\lightwave.
The thing removes all my pluggins and stock pluggins!
What on earth? Im still running 7.5a, Im jealous of all you who have it working.
(I even tried it on my laptop and the same result)
(I even redownloaded the patch)
Help me

I think when this happened to me I wound up reinstalling 7.0, and then the patch. Sort of a completely new installation (complete with uninstall first?)
It was a pain. But, all better now.

You should contact Tech support and they can walk you thru setup

I went through this a couple of months ago and talked to newtek support. This is what they told me to do and it worked great.
Completely unistall lightwave and delete the folder it was in.
Restart
Re-install lightwave from the cd.
Go straight to the lightwave 7.5c updater without using the b updater.
That's all there is too it, and it fixed my problems. If you use b first; c will delete your plugs.

Check to see if the update made a new programs directories, one for 7.5A and one for 7.5C.

You'll still have this problem unless you do a proper removal in Windows before you re-load your LightWave installation.
It seems that if the b or c patch has been installed previously, and you don't remove it first from the programs list, it has a habit of deleting large chunks of your LightWave from the drive when you apply it. Look under the Add/Remove programs in the control panel - If its there, uninstall it first!
As for the b-c issue - I've upgraded 7.5b to 7.5c without issue on one machine, however that was when the patch first camer out and was 20Mb, and not the 15Mb it became - I wonder if they changed something in that installer between those two patch changes?
