How many light do you use...

Great work....

nice!!!

I like the models!

but the HDRI is abit obvious, and the shadow on the large box looks weird... maybe its because of the caustics....?

really good render. It is a HDRI map ???

Does it matter if HDRI is obvious? Not sure the typical consumer is going to notice this.

you know how in cartoons when one of those cartoon dogs sees a hot cartoon girl and his eyes pop out of his head? my eyes just did that when i saw this image, and they kind of hurt now.

great image, very realistic,

still, the shadows are far too dark, i think this isn't good for the composition, and it ain't realistic either

look at the flasks, some parts are transparent, while some are completely opaque, and you don't see that in the shadows, the shadows look as if some fully opaque object was there

turn on Use Transparency in the final Render softshadow light

..well no idunno what you've used, but if it is fR, my suggestion might be valid :) It's a very pretty image..just those weird solid shadows.

Hmm, not to be an ass, but I don't think the "LightWave3D 7.0" part in the thread title was all that misleading :D

I do see what they're on about the shadows though..but those look like area lights? they should take trans into account. Not sure what exactly you're doing, could be dozens of setups.

When using HDRI in LW.... it helps to make the light that is giving off the shadows not very bright.... err set the intensity to about 12%. Then set the shadow color to a darker / lighter grey. This will make the shadows much lighter of course. --- Though it will jack your caustics as the light source isn't as bright.... so clone the light.... and have the second light with normal intensity and turn off effecting shadows, but effect caustics. -- This may improve things a bit. :)

Help a newbie out....

What's HDRI?

oh man, how much time does it take to render an image like this.

HDRI = High Dynamic Range image. The picture in the background is an HDRI pic. --- That is, it contains values that are higher than the 255,255,255 RGB values that normal pics contain. In a sense it is a pic that contains the image exposed with different exposure settings. -- This comes into play as objects will reflect their surroundings differently.. so now the specuar highlight of glass will have a different reflection than the specular highlight of plastic. This adds realism to the scene. -- Err that is the very short version of HDRI.

the bottles are great but the boxes look odd I think... can't put my finger on it though.. maybe it's that typical 'bumpmap-look'
