Hi, welcome aboard..

As for the model, you've got the feel going, the shapes seem to be there (with minor diffs), but the proportions are out of sorts. Mainly the windshield that does it I think, and the piece behind the headrest. You using a very wide angle lens? Seems a kind of "SD" version of the bike. If that's a style you're going for, that could be cool :)

Don't mean to be nitpicky on your first post, just very into it so I'm surrounded by tons of reference. :) Also not sure about regional differences, but everywhere I've seen it, it's "Kaneda".

w00t! lets post our kaneda bike images(since there will be a movie about akira(live action))

critz bout you model:
the windshield looks abit big, and the whole model looks "sqeezed-in" wich makes it look short...
the bike in akira looks long and sleek.


also it looks like you have the toy as reference wich is not acurate(the chair for one) and the proportions of the model are also bit off, large rearlights etc. but I like the stickers. nice one!

Yeah, it does kind of look like a superdeform version. nice work. Can you believe that Otomo designed this bike in the 70's?

yeah saw that one WHILE I was modelling mine:insane:
but I wanted to do the "small toy version of the movie bike"
and not a "real" bike.

that guy has made some awsome stuff, but hey I am only 20 years old, and I have a life :D

Yes, for crissakes, I really wish they weren't even CONSIDERING it. It's enough they're remaking old movies and tv shows, and old animated tv shows into live action movies, but an animated movie, especially a 'classic', should be left alone. Even the live action 101 dalmations was a really lame idea. This would be an outright tragedy. Aside from a very few things, the original still holds up today, the restored version was awesome.

Well and not to mention that unless it has a $400m budget and is nearly all-CG there's no way they could possibly do it properly. From what the Wachowskis and others have said the matrix may end up having big-level psychic combat and destruction like that, but who knows.


Anyway, rant off. Back to your thread, sorry :D
