Ooooooh .... that's gotta hurt! I would have the mouse ride down the "rod" a bit more until he bottoms out on the holder ... you know with all that momentum and body weight ... maybe some traces should be left behind on the candle ... well, no ... forget that last suggestion :)

I don't know why you got so little feedback - I think this animation is one of the best things I have seen so far done with messiah. Cool! :applause:
I like the way you transported the classical cartoon animation style into 3D.
Like someone else said, some timings are hard to critique without the final sound, but some "moments" seem a bit long to me, other stuff (like when he finds his back burning) need more support with some hypervoxel fire etc., but I'm sure this isn't the final rendering...
The ears could maybe use some softbody secondary motion, they are a bit stiff - but your animation on them is nice and helps the facials...
You will already know that the tail is quite some time in the middle of the movie going through the floor.

Can't wait for a final rendering!

Thomas is right, I don't know why I missed to reply to you, though I intended to do so...

This is a great piece of animation indeed!
Ditto, can't wait to see the final render:applause:

M.

EDIT: piece, not peace ;)

Thanks guys,
I've dont a lot of work on it since, changing bits, adding bits etc. But im running out of time to get it on my reel so I can apply for work.

I did want to add motion dynamics and a bit of softbodies but may have to miss them out for now.

I was also gonna do a lot more to the enviroment but again time......
I've added some smoke but again that is a new area for me so its nothing fancy

I will post when I have the version which i have to call final for now. I'm just waiting for it to render.

Thanks again

Carl

Yes, Thomas is right, it's one of the best "personal animation" I've ever seen with messiah

Now I'm waiting for the rendered version ;)

Very nice, Carl. Looks like you've added some extra subtleties or not so subtle subtleties to the animation. Great work!

Hi Carl.

The animation is much improved, but the rendering still looks like an OpenGL-preview to me.

Maybe a cellshader and some outlines would fit better if you can't invest more time into it?

And give the candle-Flames at least an animated displacement - they are dead stiff currently :-)

It also looks like you switched lighting while you render - when he starts to run around with his burning back, the stairs are quite bright, but suddenly the background is getting dark???

So I would give the animation 5 stars but the texturing, lighting and rendering doesn't get any, sorry... :-)
