Hi,

This is a render for an architectural project of a Sci-Fi museum in Switzerland.

http://www.essania.net/wip/EdA_BMV_2004.jpg

It is done in C4D 8.2 and Ozone 2, OSX Panther on a bi G4 1.42ghz.

There is one light, the Ozone's Sun and an HDR picture on a sphere.

Critics very welcome.

Une arteplage de remplacement?

Ehehe, i can't see the Jura mountain range in the background.
Nice render by the way, i really like how the background blend into the water.
Did you do only the rendering or also the project design?

OOops i forgot. I did took several hdri maps in this area for a similar project. But i didn't have enough time to complete it (the hdri not the project). So i might drop you a line if i complete one of those (they are winter time lightning btw).

Looks good! Is their more to the environment? Unless Switzerland moved to the shore, i didn't know any lakes tha were that vast...

Very nice nice one man!

But the environment could use a bit. I know its ment to be focused on the museum, but more environment will make it looks all the more beleiveable and convincing.

Thanks!

Yes I could've add some mountains, but it was not necessary for this job.

I've made some other images, with a different architecture, which you can see on my web site (or I could post some here if you want).

This job is over now. It was a project for a sci-fi museum. But the people didn't want it :(

JeF, you can contact me for those HDR pictures.

That's some great work on those shots. Especially the one with the egg shaped chairs. Impressed :)

yeah nice renders. Love those egg shaped chairs.

I'm wondering what are those half tube like structures that leads to the museum? Are they walk ways?

Interesting work you've done there.

I liek the egg-chairs too.
They remind me on "men in black".
Surely cosy ;)

I can't dig the dimensions of that building.
How big would it be in real life?

Cheers, Daniel :arteest:

BTW, Nice atmospheric music you've got on your webpage.

Thank You all!

The dimension of the metal structure is 100 meter long and 60m.

The half tube are the walk way to get to the "thing".

The Egg Seat are the only thing I've design. The client ask me to create something for those seat.
The Egg shape came up in my mind since it's a shape that have been used a lot in Sci-Fi (Alien, Cocoon, etc..)

Here is the link to the actual Museum:
Maison d'Ailleurs (http://www.ailleurs.ch/)
(there is an english version)
They have about 40'000 books about sci-fi.

Hi Simon,

Yes it was my picture at La Creme.

It was a first project. Done with XL7.
Then, there were this second project, with the cube shape for the building, which is inspired by the 2001's Monolith.
The first project are from architects Switzerland and the second one from architects in Germany.

I have made this new render for the first project, with 8.2.

I didn't count the hours (yes, i should've), but I guess this took about 100 hours (I'm slow  )
There is 250 cables and material are almost all SLA or BodyNut shader.

Dont know if you already told people, but the original design is Diller & Scofidios "blur building" for the Swiss Expo 02.

Nice renderings..

Thanks for the link jais.
Yes that's this building.

The story that is now history:

The Blur building was build in Yverdon-les-bains, in Switzerland, for the national Expo02 exposition.

The museum La Maison d'Ailleurs and the town of Yverdon, proposed to keep part of this Blur building, at the end of the exposition, and put the sci-fi museum on it.

Two projects were done, but only the latest, the "Cube" have been showed to the population.

The population rejected the project.

End of the story
Start of the history :)
