Does any one know if there will be a patch for OSX 10.3 or what is causing the problems that some users are shouting about
( on to apparently deaf ears )?????????

Toddler: Apparently using the Graph editor causes LW to crash and a couple of people have reported other bugs.

It seems that the problems just being ignored until LW8 is released.

Just found this on the Newtek website:

LightWave 7.5c and Mac OS X.3 (Panther):

1) When modifying a keyframe in the Graph Editor, LightWave Layout will crash.

- This is a known bug and we are actively working on a fix for this.

2) When assigning a surface containing transparency to an object, the OpenGL views will not show it as transparent.

- This is a known bug and we are actively working on a fix for this.

3) When using viewport tools (move, rotate, zoom) or selecting and moving, rotating, scaling objects, the items jump far away from the cursor.

- This is a known bug and we are actively working on a fix for this. There is a workaround to resolve the issue temporarily. To stop the jumpiness, set the Input Device to Tablet Mode. In Layout, this setting is in General Options Preferences, in Modeler this setting is in Interface Preferences. In Layout, press 'o', click Tablet button for Input Device. In Modeler, press 'd', click Interface tab, click Tablet button for Input Device.

Kaiten, reading that link that Jeremy posted (above) it seems that Newtek is in the process of distributing a patch that makes Lightwawe 7.5 compatible with Panther.

Put your name down for this patch.

October and we're still waiting for an official release - why could they be taking so long?

I havent got a clue.

However they did gather a group of beta testers about 4 weeks ago. So somethings on the way (hopefully).

Its all gone very quiet on the forums though( could be due to a nondisclosure agreement. ???) so we'll have to wait and see.

If you update to OS 10.3.3 the graph editor bug (which is the main problem) is fixed.

The mouse issue remains, but just switch to Tablet mode.

BTW, 10.3.3 will be released in the next couple of weeks.

Cool. I may finally be able to move to Panther soon then.
Well, after everyone's had a couple of weeks to try it out and suffer whatever headaches there may be :D

I might repost this as a new thread, as people may not see it at the bottom of this old thread.
