I'm trying to figure out the best way to animate a roller coaster in Maya 5. I have an 8 row coaster and when I create the slow-in and slow-outs, the rows hit each other. This was easy to figure out in Max, but I cannot seem to figure it out in Maya. I've tried constraints, bones, and they didn't work. The closest solution was to use path deform on a box going through the motion and then attach the rows to it. I then hide the box and it looks fine. There must be a better way, either with a constraint combo or an expression. Can anyone help?
