CGTalk - Problem with Max 4.2 on loading

View Full Version : Problem with Max 4.2 on loading

I got download happy and saved a load of plugins for Max 4.2. I proceeded to install them and now I've got a serious problem.

When Max starts I receive the following message:

"DLL C:\3dsmax42\plugins\curvectl.dlu is an obsolete version - not loading"

So I hit the okay button, the max screen then appears and suddenly dissapears without a warning.

I've deleted all the dlt, dlm, dlo, etc files i've installed (methodically going thru all zips I downloaded looking for the files to erase). Yet teh problems persist!

Help!!!!

If my memory serves, curvectl.dlu is part of Shag:Fur or Shag:Hair. If you have installed one of these plugins, that's definitely the culprit. You'll need to delete or move that particular file to get MAX back to normal.

Maybe you tried installing an older version of the plugin?

Warning!!!!
Some plug in install themself in the STDplugin directory.........look in this place......and erase
