Hello there!
I am new to these boards and also new to modeling. I have Maya PLE at home and my school has Maya Unlimited available to us.
I love the old show Thundercats and I'd like to model Mumm-ra. I've messed around with Maya, and although I have to fish around a bit, I have an understanding of its tools.
My question is, what do you guys would be the best approach in creating him?
I can use a screenshot to do a front view but there arent many side views to match so I figure I'll just wing it for the vertices.
In terms of approach should I model the body, followed by layers of bandages, then a cloak on top? Or do you guys recommend just going straight for the final look, with no layers and just some texturing?
(I realize I'm taking on a really tough 1st project, but I'm fine with that)
Thanks in advance!
