Sanciok, I think the render looks great. The modeling is superb! The welds especially look very nice. For some reason the nail holding the lantern to the wall looks a bit funny to me though. It looks like it is in the wall at an angle but the flat round part of the nail is facing the camera (I am sure it is just a wierd perspective thing though) but I would expect the lantern to slide down the nail and hit the wall.
Wow great job though. Now slap a candle in it ;)

the nail is actually bent downwards... it's only a camera effect

i like this. the nail does look like it was driven in the wall downwards. just my 2 cents, can you maybe have something other than the nail holding it up? i think it would look nice if it was like a bolt without a head on it that also had about two of those closed circle hooks hanging from it to hold the lamp by it's open hook. this render leaves a lot for the imagination but in a good way. i find my self visualizing if this wall is apart of a cozy fantasy cottage like on the lord of the rings or if it's apart of an aristocrats manor from the early 1800's. good work with the details in the lamp.
btw, which hdri sphere did you use, that is if you downloaded it from net?

As a reference I actually used a lantern hand made by my fantastic grand father.
I could use something else instead of the nail to hang it up on the wall. The point is that i imagined this lantern in an old country house like in the 1940's - 50's, true old italian style... so i thought of the nail as the most immediate thing.
But I could try something else holding it up, like a chain or a hook...
I used the kitchen hdri found in the example by Janine Pauke, that i downloaded with the 8.1 upgrade. I think it's one by Paul Debevec www.debevec.org
Thanks for your c&c.... keep it coming!

Okay, I'll comment. It's exellent! The materials stand out in particular, but the modeling, lighting are also great.

You can post something interesting, intuitive or personal and you won't ever hear a responce, that's the way it is sometimes.
Be thankful I put it to you in a nice way, because most won't.
My advice to you is to post in the WIP section, if you want positive feedback, that's the way to go.

Really realistic and your texturing is wonderful. I would love to see it with a lit candle in it also.
