CGTalk - Landscape : Sunset

This is my first digital painting, painted on photoshop.cs with a wacom tablet, again this was a first time I had used a wacom tablet.

Anyway as this is my first 2D creation i would really like to hear your crits and comments. I'm not sure where I'm gonna go form here. Probably into a mountain scene, as that is probably the most traditional thing to do!

Right now all your foreground cloud detail seems to be of about the same size. Clouds are totally random, with plumes of random size and shape. Looks too much like the smudge tool right now.

The colors are dead on and I like the composition. It would be cool if the clouds in the foreground were dust pouring off a recently bombed city :) I've got fallout on the brain.

I think it´s a really good start, as the earilier poster said I must comment on the darker clouds. I think you have to add more details as they are closer to the viewer.

I must say that the white and yellow clouds in the background are very good.

Yeah, overall really nice. When I saw the word "Sunset" in the thread title, I was afraid to click on it, thinking there'd be some garishly awful painting in here? :D
But what you have so far is tonally, beautifully observed and executed.
