Very rough still, and the mesh is still messy. Overall shape is there. Any comments on how i can improve it?

current Triangle count:
body-2500
wheels-600 each

thats my fav car, also the GTR street edition, do you think you can render me a 1600x1200 image so i can use to as a desktop?

I love it, looks excellent with Your poly budget. Almost like hipoly version.

looking good, if it is intended for game use you could lose a lot more polys though without losing detail

looks really good for a 5000 polygon car....though you could really improove the tri-srtip friendlyness by aligning triangles and get rid of trifans and stuff. :)

Thanks for the crits. The budget is 10,000, and emphasis is on realtime reflections, so the mesh must have some nice smooth reflections. i plan to use 5000 tri's for the body, and the rest for wheels\interior and other small details. So right now i have the freedom of adding polys to smoothen the body out.

Update:

the whole car is 7500 Triangles, i still have to finish modeling the interior details, brake discs\pads, then texturing will start.

Very nice

I think it looked great at just over 3000 poly's, but it looks much better up in the 7500 range. I like the texture (was it just a test matte?) that was yellow with the carbon looking hood.


Looks great, and is that XSI your modeling with?

Looks good, lots of quads in there though, that the actual tri count or poly count? Looks like a lot of tri-stiping you may want to consider cleaning up... also, something to note, most racing games you spend your time seeing the back of the car for the most part, may want to take some of those polys from the front end and use them in the rear instead. Looks good though

the last pic i dont show the rear, but i improved it, as for tri-stripping i redid the the wells and now its sooo much better as you can see from the pic. BTW its Triangle count.

Its intended for a still uknown game, but im putting it into racer (www.racer.nl), but ispoke to soon.... its beginning to be a drag converting the car properly... its going to take a lot longer then anticipated :-(
