Ummmh, a bit disturbing... ;-) But nicely drawn.
I think her confident expression says she´s not the kind of girl who would do this to herself.

sexy and evil, a bit of blood I see there too. Sweet style. I like the big sexy eyes. When you color it, I would really push the importance on those eyes.

I'm working on the outlines for now....trying to define the details.....i've fix the right arm that was too long.....and worked on the dress.....
Thanks Jan for the comment!....I'll try to put an insane look in her eyes....like she just cut herself but really don't care anymore!......With the colors, i hope to remove her ''too confident look''
Thkz mindstate7.....i like the big eyes too!...I'll really focus on the eyes to give'em more importance....everything starts with the eyes!!!

What is bugging me the most about this picture is that it does not show that she has had enough of the wonderland, but the look on her face is more of a "look what I did, doesn't it shock you?" It is not a look of disgust or desperation to get out of life, but instead a plead for attention, trying to impress by looking strong and dark. And I hope it does not say anything about yourself that you are giving such a strong willed/sarcastic life to a subject like suicide.

Hi!....thankz jrwells for your comments!....your right about the look she has...but my idea is not to make her looks like she's desperate about life.....I want to show that she became insane and crazy in the wonderland, and she really got the "look what i did, doesn't it shock you?"eyes!....like she doesn't care anymore....And don't worry......I'm fine and I only did this drawing for the fun of doing it....just to take a cute and happy character like Alice, and put her in a situation absolutly on the extreme...like death......I don't wanna make fun of suicide....I just had an idea, and I drew it!.....thankz again!...

like it..........nice and clean..............
she seems really satisfied (sure) about her decision..... probably not the tipical expression of someone who just slid their wrist............but hey......they are not living in wonderland :)

Ok!...The outlines are done....and i'm happy with them....
I've changed the others images for smaller ones....so it's faster to load......I tried to put enough blood to make it dramatic...but not too much to make a mess.....there are still some things weird like the blood spots on the floor....they seem to float....but with the colors....i hope to fix'em all!.....
thanks for your comments juju!.....i know she seem satisfied....and i think she may be....and that she lost her mind....she's not all there anymore.....that's why she looks so sure!........I'll try to make her some messed up make up in her face...and tired eyes....like she cried too much before she lost her mind......anyway!...i jump on my wacom to start the colors!!!!
......hope you still love her!!!........and dont worry!...unlike Alice..i'm totally sane!!!...................i think............http://picserver.student.utwente.nl/view_image.php/XA93C269ZM http://picserver.student.utwente.nl/view_image.php/XA93C269ZM

hey, very nice work over here! :)
I just wanted to ask you a question: how do you make such a clean linework? :) I mean how do you keep them the same width for example? for my linework, I usually zoom in, trace the line, erase the borders, trace again, erase, etc.. and it takes some time :) any better method, or just practice? :)
and at what scale do you work? is your last posted pic the actual size? (736x900)
btw, can't wait to see it colored :)

are you a fan of the video game "Alice"? That has the more grown up Alice too - mentally disturbed, carrying a knife. :D
Nice drawing...but why is she proportioned like a kid, (big head, short limbs) if she's supposed to have outgrown Wonderland?

Thankz for the comments!
Drumwhore!....for the outlines....i scan my pencil drawing...i trace my outlines in photoshop with a bigger brush, and as you do, i reshape my line by erasing the sides to make them cleaner...it takes some times but i like the result....and my PSD is about 3200x4000......it's better to work really big...so if you want to send your image for the Expose book....the bigger the image, the better it is!!!!..
-BMunchausen...hehe!...yes i tried the video game long ago...it was kool, and disturbing.....and when i had the idea for my drawing....it reminded me the game too!.....maybe, in my subconscious the game made me have this idea...who knows!
...the reason why she has these proportions is simple!.....this is my style of drawing.....i made some others characters with these kind of proportions.......i was just in the mood to continue the style...if you want to see them...here are the links!...thanks!

Aah....makes more sense now that I've seen your other figures. I really like the pink haired one you use for your avatar. Yup, Alice (the game) really made a strong impression on me too...I really liked the darkness of it. The same designer is coming out with a dark, twisted version of the Wizard of Oz - I'm holding my breath!

its coming along quite sick! The only suggestion I may have is to vary the line widths a bit more to bring out certain elements and mabye fakes some shadows. It looks very clean... And again, great style!
I cant wait to see it colored

Hey! BMunchausen...i can't wait to see the Wiz of Oz game!!!!if it's as dark as Alice.....it will kick some @$$!....
You're right mindstate7...i should try to variate more the lines....everytime i finish cleaning them....they look all the same width....but i try to make the shadows with the colors....
Thankz Jill!....it always gives a good boost when someone simply says he loves your work!!!!......enjoy the update!!!http://picserver.student.utwente.nl/view_image.php/VY48BA76P0 http://picserver.student.utwente.nl/view_image.php/VY48BA76P0

Brilliant work, but the saturation of the colours is reallllly bad on the eye. it really ruins the image. :(

I like this piece that you have going on. It sure is coming around quick. You did a great job with the hair, the high lights are nice in the piece also. The touch of running mascara(spelling on that one) is sweet. One suggestion that i would say is maybe put alittle grain in the floor like you did with the chair. NICE PIECE

Looking good....... there´s something about the colour.......I dunno probably just personal......for me they struck me straight away....wasnt sure iff I liked them.........but after a couple of looks they dont bother me really.........
one other thing...........I would like to see some shadows on the floorboards..........where the wood bends and especially on the side of the wood........some different color anyway......
Otherwise ....looking great....

THankz for the comments!.........as you can see....it's not finished!......and i'm happy to have some good feedback and suggestions to work on.....
The Don....i'll try to play with the saturation after all the colors will be finished....and after i'll have put all the shadows and lightnings....
Chimpy...dont worry!...my next step is to put grain and details on the floor!...hope to get it as good as the chair!....
juju!...as i said to The Don...i'll try to fix the colors after everything is finished.......and i'll put a lot of shadows on the floor and everywhere else.....it's still too bright for me......maybe more shadows will make it more dramatic!.........stay tuned for the next updates!!!....chiao!

...as The Don asked...i worked a lot on the colors and the saturation....hope it's better for the eyes, and make it more dramatic!...
....I hade a big fun with the floor and the shadows!!!....
....BlueHarp411....I still dont have a web site....i don't know anything about making a web site.....but i really need one!.....anyway!....as soon as i can get one.....i'll put the link in my profile....so you can enjoy!......and if you can't wait forever....you still can see some of 'em on these links...

I'd darken up the background more so the character doesn't get washed out. Also, I think you should push your contrasts more with the image. All of your colors seem to be of the same luminance. I think you could really add more mood to it with deeper shadows and subtle highlights.
Love the drawing, the colors are ... hmmmm ... well, the blood looks like KoolAid (if that helps).

Ok!.......after the good suggestions of Kirt and juju...I made the background a lot darker...and i put even more shadows...trying to make it more dramatic........now i think it's good!...not perfect...but good enough to leave it and start something else!....
...Thankz again to everyone with your suggestions!...It really helped me to improve my drawing!..........
.....and again.....i know my image reminds of the video game American Mc'gee Alice........lots of people are telling me!!!!!.......but as i said in the 2D finished forum, i didn't used any images of the game as reference......for me....the only thing that looks similar between thoses images......is the knife.....and Hey!....i can draw a knife by myself!!!!...hehe!.......chiao!

Wow!!
That is some really excellent work.
I have nothing more to say, I agree withmost of the changes/decisions and the end results looks awesome.
[edit]
actually, there is one thing I would like to know
When doing the linework in photoshop, would you put all the lines on one path, or spilt them up into sections?
Hash!
01-23-2004, 03:43 PM
Hi!....Stu_Hacking...to answer your question, I don't use path to make the outlines.....i do everything by hand....i scan my sketch...and i draw the outlines roughly on different layers...one layer by object...it gives me about 15 layers, but it's easier to make changes on one item......and after, i clean my outlines with the erase tool....to reshape them like i want.....it takes some time...but i like the result.......and i prefer to do everything by hand than use tools like Path.......
Stu_Hacking
01-23-2004, 03:57 PM
Cool, I guess I just assumed you used path
that must take ages ;)
The result is awesome :)
Hash!
01-23-2004, 04:23 PM
Hehe!...sure it takes hours to sculpt the outlines!!!......I'm from the old school!.......but i guess that art is like making puzzles!....the real fun is when you work on it....not when it's finished!!!..........and i like the result too!!! ;-)
