a tree generator for C4D is well on its way to being developed, I'll keep you guys in touch when things like the actual name and pricing and such are a little more certain,I'll get a pick later to day of a mac and windows screenshot.

LucentDreams

nope, it build polygonal trees, but very efficient and optimized trees, it is a seperate app, and produces its own format I guess, but an import plugin will be included, and it is designed specifically for XL.

Grey
06-22-2002, 09:07 PM
fair enough :D

<---wondering if Onyx Tree or XFrog is one of them, but I'll wait and see...

I'm actually partial to XFROG's tools...

LucentDreams
06-22-2002, 09:16 PM
I believe that Xfrog has a c4d plugin for it. or maybe it was XL has a plugin to import Xfrog, but there is definitely one for onyx tree, as for this one, it is a new program being developed, and is designed to creatye models specifically optimizedfor XL, where the others just make trees in their ownformats that can be imported into many apps so no optimization for any certain app.

I'll be damned! It sure does... of course, it's for 7.3 and I'm still with 6.3...

When you say optomized, you mean no triangles, yes?

LucentDreams

Greenworks has just released a new import plug for Cinema, which is also able to take over the animations...

Greenworks should get on the ball and port XFrog to the Mac. The C4D plugin doesn't even work on the Mac for heaven's sake.

As for this new tree generator Kaiskai is talking about: it looks good from what I've seen so far. As for timeframe it may be a while (though it'll definitely be worth it in the end).

LucentDreams

since yesterday : ) Don't want to get into the story here as it may mislead some people, check PF if you want to get a little idea of how it started.

Right now you can watch me all you want, haven't seen or heard anything yet, and I won't be set for a couple of days. Anyways I am going on a 14 hour vacatoin at my Aunt's tonight, so I won't be typing anymore today. I'll probably see you around stephan. Somehow I have to get this thing with Adam done and not get affected by school and the testing. I always have to work with a full plate or rather overflowing. as long as I get some sleep I'm okay.

Oh, and Congratulations to Germany in the football game last night, I was routing for Korea just cause my roomie is Korean, and it would be interesting to see them in the finals, but they played a great game just didn't get the shots on net although both teams were pretty equal I'd say. too bad two of Germanys best playerswon't be able to play in the finals.

We have some database trouble at the moment... I've already contacted our provider... this really p***** me off... If they can't get it right, we will have to move...
But thanks for the tip.

I think we will have a little chat in our secret beta testing head quarters soon ;) See you there..

BTW: I don't like soccer... so it doesn't really matter to me, if germany wins ;) I really hate soccer.... uuuuhhhh....

LucentDreams
06-25-2002, 09:10 PM
Hmm its funny how all the people with teams for their country hate soccer while me a Canadian who hasn't seen their team in a world cup loves it.

Yeah see you soon. I'm outa here.

the states put up a decent show this year too, i mean, just because its the states and we'd been sucky for a loooong time. I was glad to see them put a good effort in this time round.

No offence to any German compatriots here but does your goal keeper eat broken glass for breakfast?....just curious,he looks sooooo serious.
