Hi people. I've got a problem regarding modelling (I guess) and bones so please could someone help me?

I created a bug character and I've got him set up with bones and stuff. Now I want to clone him to create a scene. I'm trying to do some animations long maybe 5 minutes and I'm using this project to improve my skills. And this is a problem I've come along. So as I said I got a set-up character and want to clone it. Now when I copy it the new copy seems to lose it's bone structure and just 'breaks down'. If you know what I mean please send me some help.

I don't know what I should do.

Also a side problem. I have a hand set-up with bones. Now when I try to twist it, the hand seems to actually twist like when you twist a rope or something. How should I turn it so that the palm looks up and still maintaining its structure.

That's 2 questions for you to try and solve for me. I'll try and put up some pics.

I believe what is happening is that the skin or physique modifier is being copied too. You can't do that in Max. You need to take the skin or physique modifier off the mesh, then copy the mesh and the bones, and then reapply the skin or physique modifier.
Sorry but I know this means you have to adjust the envelopes again but... no pain, no gain.

Let me know how this works for you.

zkydz's suggestion and yofreetime's method seem to work. I'll try them out and see! I'll post a reply if it works!
