yeah so yesterday at about 4 in the morning i had the inspiration to model the main character from my favorite anime, well i went to bed and when i woke up this morning i decided to see how far i could get done in one day and this is what i came up with , lets see if you guys can guess who it is when he doesn't have his hair or ears yet hehe

p.s. i have pictures that would give it away i'll post them tomorrow.http://www.negative0.com/gunslinger/01.jpg

the eyes are ok, considering anime is "big eyes small mouth".
but, actually, the "bigness" of the eyes is mostly in the irises, so that part will show when you texture it. (and, if its an evil character, it can have small irises)
i have some crits about the nose though.
anime characters have barely a nose, if one at all.
you could push its ridge closer to the headstructure, or something similar.

and, even though anime characters should have somewhat smaller mouths, i have a feeling this is a male character, so it can have a bigger mouth.

nice job sofar.
i dont like the huge wireframe, but if thats how you work, i cant say anything about it :)

oh, and i guess its Shinji Ikari from NGE.
looks like a smaller weakling ;)

thanks for the crits, it's not shinji though ummm the wire is so dense because that's the smoothed version i have a lo poly version i do all of my work on but that doesn't look very attractive, hes not bad and i just put those pupils there as placeholders but i usually like to leave them big or extremely small to efficiently use the blendshapes, as for the nose i didn't use any references in the program (orthographic views) but i was looking at pictures of the character drawn by the creator and the nose as well as just about all of the rest of the face is about as spot on as i can get for a 3d conversion of the character, it's lucky for me he has an interesting and more "realistic" approach to illustrating his anime/manga characters.
