First off, you have an excellent sense of shape and depth, as well as contrast. I see a lot of life drawings with lighter shades. You seem to have a lot of confidence in your work. The proportions are good as well. I really only have one minor suggestion.

You seem to be using a lot of straight lines and straigh crosshatching in you shading. ALthough this is not necissarily a bad thing, try using curved lines more. Wrap the lines around the arm or leg, while keep in the same sense of shading you have now. I think if you try this, you will se that your work will "pop" out of the page.

I shaded very similarly to you and when my teacher told me to do this, it really helped me out. I hope this works and helps you.

Great work thus far.

Why do you need hard critique? Your work is great. I do agree with mindstate's suggestion, but that's just a matter of preference. I've seen some people use all sorts of techniques and they still couldn't draw anything.

I guess it would help to know why you're drawing? Are you drawing just because you like to (hobby,) or are you trying to become a concept artist (film, games, 3d?) You may want to try different styles of drawing if you want to be a concept artist. You'd also want to learn how to draw different things (people, buildings, cars, etc.)

I'm an amateur concept artist, so I'd also suggest playing around with color. Your drawings are really nice.
