Well, this piece is finally "finished"

I'd love to hear some good crit on this one, as it's one of the larger images I've done in ZBrush.

As ZBrush is not a "real" 3D application, there are no wires. However, I like to do a render with a generic material and a GI'ish light setup to show the modeling...

This is actually a mix of the textured version and the GI version:

well, first and formost you did a very good job and i realy like how you have worked this concept. i really only have a few things that could help improve this peice.

1.) The colors are WAY to similar. they blend together way too much. this is most seen between the monster and the rocks. if you were trying to make it look like it was creeping out of the shadows then it should creep up from a different angle. but it looks like a stare between the beast nad the victum, so i think you should try and make the creature stand out.

your cloudy sunset washes into the rocks on the upper left side as well. the colors are to alike.

2.) what could help #1 would be to have some sort of light sorce because it is rather flat. adding a light source could really seperate the beast from the background stuff and allow for more detail. you have good highlights in the lower right conrner try and appyl that concept and tecnique to the upper left side and between the rocks and the monster's neck in the image.

3.) your texture version shows a lot of detail that becomes lost in the "final" image. this is most noticiable in the face. it seems more ready to charge or like it is screaming before the attack rather than stare contest like the "Final" version.

find some way to distinguish each element. the rocks, the creature. the sunset. the victum. each is an individual piece that works with the whole.

it is a good image, but i just think it has some more fine tuning left. hope i was of some help and that you found my advice useful. :-D
