Hi, Im having trouble with max's video post glow option.
in specific, the distance fade from the camera. It should, in theory make the glow size smaller and less bright the further the object was from the camera.

check this http://homepage.ntlworld.com\aurorae\Vid Post problem.jpg

Ive tried locking them, unlocking them, used a vast array of combinations, looked in the help file and searched these forums but to no avail.

i was wondering if anyone could give me a hand?

It's not perfect, but you could first apply a focus filter to the que, before the glow filter. Set the focal node to your camera and then adjust untill the back end of your object fades out in the distance. Then apply the glow. In the proporties tab set the filter to bright and slowly increase the value until you see a change.

Unfortunately its a complex scene that has many objects, and I think the focus filter would intefere with other objects.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Is this feature definately not working?

The feature works, but you have to understand that video post in Max is a throwback to the old DOS days and is way over due for an overhaul. What I would suggest is to do that type of heavy work in Combustion or After Effects.
