hi, this is my first finished car and my second finish project.
thanks for the people that helped me out in the WIP (http://www.cgtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=43) section.
this is my first time posting in the finished forum. and ive really been wanting to post work here for months but i didnt have anything good or in-level-work with some.
anyways: ive been cg-ing for 6 months by myself (hobby), made this with max 5.1, rendered with brazil r/s, 28k polys, used GI (skylight x1), been working on this for over a month
ABOUT THE PICTURE WITH BKGRND: i took a photo of my front lawn and a photo of a tree (near my front lawn for the reflection) and got a material (matte/shadow) that only renders out the shadow it touches and placed it on the ground plane. i made one of the pictures the environment and the other as a reflection for the car. then fiddled around with the camera untill i got the right look.
im not really a car guy and probably wont be making anymore after this.
comments and crits are very welcome.

the model looks perfect.. you just need to tweak the reflection.. try using fresnel reflection..

Really nice. Work on the reflections, and the headlights.

Nice, two nit picks, though. Didn't the 92 RT/10's still have the black exposed side pipes? Also, pretty sure they only came in Black, Red and Yellow. I only say this because you specified it as a 92.

Post some more larger pics.

Nice looking car man, and congrats on getting a good project wrapped up.:) I can't comment on the accuracy of the car without something to compare it too, but what you got looks pretty nice. I think you would be better off making more renders of the car on the white background. Also make them much higher rez. Anyways, its a simple but effective delivery and showcases your car much better. (I'd scrap the composite for now and work on that a bit).

I've recently discovered that using HDRI maps for your reflections will create a much more realistic type of reflection than using standard imagery. (somthing to consider).

First thanks for replying to my viper thread. Now I have acouple of questions. Since you modeled in max I'm guessing its polys did you add meshsmooth or did you make all the cuts yourself to make it smooth. Also how did you get the seams for the doors and the hood? The way I do it is to make 3 cuts all lined up and then move vertices of the cut in the middle.

sorry. the second pic does not work anymore. only because there WAS this great picture upload site then they went all trippy.

dave - nope. i found that moving edges (like in a situation you described) makes a crap smooth.
