CGTalk - Maya UI question

Is there a way to change the items in the Maya UI interface? In particular what I'm trying to do is replace the little trash can in the top right corner with a bmp file picture. Can this be done? (if so, how)

Use Resource Hacker (google it)
And open MayaRes.dll found in the bin folder.

Backup your orignal MayaRes.dll.

or you can find the smallTrash file in your "icons" folder open it and paste the pic you want :D

you know what its called?
i look for it but could find it pluys theres all those wacky formats in there

I can't find it either. I'd like to replace that trash can with the icon of Oscar from Sesame Street instead. :)

It's called smalltrash.xpm and is located in the "icons" folder and it's a bitmap 24x16...

After searching for "smalltrash*.*" on all my drives and subfolders, results found nothing. Any ideas?

Use Resource Hacker to find it and replace it...
...the icon is embedded in the MayaRes.dll

I just found it and I think that seems to be the right icon.

hmmm...guess I'm stuck with the standard trash can. I have no idea how to use/get that resource hacker you are talking about.

uhmm... just checked on a windows version of maya and in the "icons" folder there isn't such a file... while I do have it on my OS X version :hmm:

anyway just open mayares.dll in your maya5.0/bin folder with

Resource Hacker (http://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/) and in "icons" look for smallTrash and change it as bentllama just said
