Wow, I really liked it. My favourite was the facial expressions, they looked very real to me.

Technically, you obviously know how to model, animate, etc. The models deform well enough for what you're doing, and though i didn't rewind/play over and over the basic animation was solid.

Aesthetically, it could use some work. The pacing is really, really slow.

In terms of tech, it's a good effort. In terms of a *film*, it's not that entertaining.

I agree with pezz, the facial expressions in the first minute stand out, very subtle and they all flow well together. Excellent job there, I watched that bit a couple of times. The rest didn't seem to go anywhere, narratively speaking... although I can understand why you wanted to do a fighting scene... it's kickass to animate something like that.

I'm inclined to agree with Neverwake, but unlike him I don't think the deformation does the job as it is. While it seems to work for most part in the poses in the beginning, the weird deformation bugged me, especially the hips, shoulders and pecs. I didn't like the proportions you used for the arms either, they should probably have been longer, and thinner, in my opinion.

You did a much better job at that with the bigger version of the character in the end, which deforms a lot better. I also really liked the way you presented the character when jumping forward, a more extreme camera angle might have worked even better. But that's not really a remark, more of a suggestion. Along with the kickass staging and camerawork when the bunny turns around to look at the big one, makes the end very well done in terms of cinematography, in my opinion.

Bottomline, the start and end of the short were done very nicely, but the part in the middle was a bit slow paced, and not upto the quality of the beginning and end. A bit more focus on story/plot instead of action would be nice for a next... But other than that, good job at getting the short done. I started doing this kind of stuff and now how time consuming it is. Luckily, it's also fun as hell :)

great body forms

muscle details look good to me, but no genital bulge leaves the characters kinda wimpy to me

Thanks for watching guys!

Thanks pezz. I loves to do lipsyncs.

neverwake: perhaps exercise is a better term than film. It is unfinished. The original was planned 10 minutes, but I'm happy to have something under my belt. Yes, bigger things I hope.

SkullBox: yes, admittedly the story is lacking. I started this as a vehicle to do fight animation, and it ended up being the pre-cursor to a bigger fight (bigger than perhaps me...right now anyway).

Funny about the bigger bear, it was the last character I built after learning what I needed for a fight rig. You can definately see which scenes I created in what order. The rig changed at least 7 times to accomodate certain moves.

Deej : most fellas make a fuss when they see the the tumble weed shot, but for you, I may consider making a change if BB2 every comes up...

Sweet film, reminds me a lot of DBZ with the transformations and stuff. The models seemed a little odd in their animations at times, but the facial animation definitly made up for it. Great job!

I'm not familiar with, although that has been coming up often in conversation as of late. Got any footage?

I have to agree with the others. Some elements are quite nice: modelling, facial animation. There are several problems with it technically, and as a short film.

Some crits:

The sss seems very overblown, it looks like your guys are made of wax.

The environment they are in is very boring. Maybe quite nice as a backdrop, but too close to the colours of your characters. Moreover, it's very hard to differentite between the characters themselves, and it might look a lot nicer if you textured them.

Most of the piece is waaaaay too long and slow. You could have easily saved yourself half the rendering time by cutting the shots more judiciously, and the film would be a lot better for it.

The explosion effect at the start is quite nice, but it's pretty obvious that the debris is just the shattered faces of the object. And when the slightly paler bunny lands behind the slightly darker bunny, we are left only to assume that he blew up the other's house - there's not hard indication that he did, nor any explanation why.

The music... nice choice of tunes, but there seems no real reason for them being there. As soon as the music starts up, you expect somethign to happen, but then nothing does and the music fades out... it's very strange.

Some of the animation seems very unfinished. It really stands out compared to the bits you did best.

I spotted this one immediately I still have your Blood Bunnies trailer in my archive folder from Sept 2002 :) Congratulations on completing this long job and putting together a very worthy animation

Its a shame that the wonderfully cheesy music from the trailer didn't make it in and I must agree that the pace of the animation does feel rather slow. However with that said the character animation comes across very well it has great natural believable movement and camera work delivers the work to the viewer with a good eye.

Hey guys, thanks for taking the time to view and comment.

playmesumch00ns: Yes, not a Jedi yet, much to learn.

Frank Dodd: Oh, man! The P.I. At work! YES, I WISH I COULD KEEP THE CHEESY MUSIC TOO. I had some licensing issue with a band, and that was the end of that. Man that was some good groove. Good cheesy flav.

3D-ima Green, target audience! I'm glad you dig, my man, glad you dig.
