View Full Version : Background for animation...
Stevo 06-20-2002, 07:25 PM Hello all,
I have just finished a background for a future animation. Unfortunately I would like to push the textures a bit farther and try to reach photorealism, but time is limited. Tell me what ya think or if you have any suggestions...

the most notable thing would be the pumkins. They're way to yellow, if they're going to be deformed and flat growing on the ground, give them some dirt, decomposition scratches, ect.. The one on the right looks like it's floating too. I'd also add some variety to the step where it meets the ground infront of the door. It's way to sharp and needs some feet prints, or at least weathered, with mug and stuff building up on it. Afterall, it's surrounded by dirt, even the rain drops that fell building up the puddle would add some splatter to the building and pumkins. Good start though, keep it up

I'd have to say that the textures look pretty realistic, and if not, then pls tell me why you think so, maybe I could learn something. I think the only factors that make this look like a cg piece is the design and the lighting. Other than that I really like the atmosphere.

I agree with Rhid1en about the pumpkins and the step in fromt of the door. The shadows bother me a little. I like them a little softer (even for outside) and they look a little dark for the scene. The shadow form the sign looks darker than the one from the house. It doesn't bother me that much though.
Over all, I like it. It has a great look. I love the muddy water. Show us the changes if you get time to do it.

Thanks for taking the time to look. After you mentioned it, I was bothered by how the doorstep didn't have any dirt on it. There should probably be footprints all over it. In addition, I originally put some dirt on the pumkins (as in the pic attached), but it was only dry dirt patches. I will add some wet mud on bottom. Thanks for the advice, now I just need some time to make the edits:)
