I was wondering what different ways are out ther to model hair...

i have seen a few different ones, but i hoped to bring a lil discussion about this...

I have seen "chunks" of polygons with apha maps on them for the tips. (hope that made sense) i have seen solid modeling for short hair. and then programs/plugins that make hair(i kinda want to stay away from this)

anyone else?

MSB is talking about an addon for maya called paint effects that is supposed to be good for making hair.

Personally I used geometry.

i think i am going to use geometry, and learn about using opacity on the ends. i dont know much about doing this, but i have seen it done.

this is my wip thread going to be working on hair today after i finish the ear...
