People,

I'm a professional videographer in my first month of learning C4D. I currently need to create a 3d object that needs to be included in a live video sequence.

I created my object an lighted it using ab HDRI that makes it fit perfectly in the video sequence, however, I have a question. The object is "capturing" reflections of the actual HDR image, is it possible to assign a tag to my objet telling it not to capture these reflections or have i missed the point completely?

Many thanks,

sounds to me that you need to apply a compositing tag to your HDRI environment object and turn off 'seen by rays' and/or 'seen by camera'. this will allow your HDRI to contribute to the GI lighting of the scene but not appear in the render or be seen by any reflective/refractive objects.

you should read through the manual section that deals with this as there are numerous options available in the compositing tag.

Well if your object is being lit by this HDRI environment, then it would make sense that its reflecting it. If you dont want it to reflect it then change your material to have no reflections, or add a tag to the sky object removing it from the reflection calculations.

It is often advised that a HDRI used for lighting should be blurred. It is possible with tags, to have 2 sky objects, 1 that you could use for lighting the scene, and one for use as the backdrop.
