It's a meta-pyramid... Impressive design. Are we looking at an insane amount of polys or cleverly applied alpha maps?

Yes that is Modled :) no Alpha maps

as these are all modelled I reckon this would make a cool flythrough, camera whizzing about spinning n stuff :), like some crazy music video :D
