Specify what exactly you are rendering for... web, tv/VHS, yourself only.
BTW, you didnt exactly have to create a new thread to ask this. You could have asked in your first one

Depending on your DVD authoring software it may include the correct compression software for converting your animation to a compatable format for DVD
Otherwise if you just want to put movies on a CDROM or DVDROM then use Sorenson 3 or MPEG 4 Quicktimes.

I used for internet and home Sorenson codec (QuickTime), for me is great compressing and quaility

if i used quicktime, would it still be able to be burn (or be readable) on a vcd or dvd, to be played on any dvd player or playstation 2?

For DVD you would render out in MPEG2 format and to have the DVD start by itself you would need to modify the boot.ini, but Im not sure, Ive never authored any DVDs, Also, I dont think I ever heard of anyone actually playing QTimes from a DVD :surprised But I have seen them store QTimes in aDVD! :D

Correct me if I am wrong, but if you want to make a simple dvd you need to create .vob files of your movies PAL or NTSC that's up to you. Just create a VIDEO_TS folder and a AUDIO_TS folder and copy the .vob files in the VIDEO_TS folder. I think it kinda works like that. If you need the render settings and formats;

also a handy dvd link (http://www.dvdr-digest.com/)
well why not just export it to mpeg1 ?
if you use a high bitrate, the quality should be very good and it will be compatible with everything (playable on dvd,vcd players, computer, etc)
