View Full Version : Procedural Textures
fletchman 12-30-2003, 11:01 AM Hi Folks,
I have tried to use the above to texture a character and find that the rendering of the model takes a long time. Is there a way to speed it up or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the above". I suppose you mean procedural textures? If so, you can bake the textures using the surface baker.

Hi Kvaalen,
Sorry, I meant procedural textures. How do I bake a texture? I know its a real newbie question, and I did check the manual but there is nothing on this. Thanks for your help in advance.:buttrock:

In the surface editor, under the the shaders tab, choose the shader called Surfce Baker. Set the setting as you want and then make a render. You'll need to have a UV map but you can just create a simple Atlas one.
It will probably take quite some time to bake the texture though. Depends on the resolution.
Hope that helps.
