This outta be cool with a texture. Looks like he will fall back because of the weight of this head.

Well I had a little set back when I noticed after smoothing model, some of the UVs had been moved out of range..So I had to go back a save and fix them..But back on track now, Just gave it a base color coat to start.....Enjoy

Thanks!
Yea im not worried about the weight of the head, that area is actually leafs and small branches, as far as real world physics...and dont forget it could just root itself into the ground for support :)

The texture is looking good. Some things that are noticable at first (perhaps you're planning to do those anyway)

The bark should follow the shape of tree more. It just seems slapped on now. The bark usually follows the shape of the roots and branches of the tree. This picture illustrates it very nicely

I also think there should be a smoother transition between the gums and the dark inner mouth/lips.

Perhaps showing the tongue inside the mouth would make him more evil.

another good one! id suggest lowering the brightness on the red eyes, they stick out a little too much. also maybe increase the contrast on the bark? it just kinda looks splotchy right now.

Thanks!
I worked on the eye like you said, and tried to bring more contrast to the bark....What do you think?

Hey everyone.
I have two renders of the tree monster, 1 with a 1024 texture size, and the second 512. When I go to the 512 is becomes very blurry. I tried editing the UVs again but for some reason I get areas that stay blurred/streched.
Any Ideas???

Thanks

Sure DreiGrasheir, no problem.
Its kind of big, I saved it as a jpg for the post but left the size alone at 1024x1024.

Try applying a temporary texture with just squares on it, there might be some stretching going on with causes the blurriness.

You might wanna have a look at the flow of the bark, let it flow more naturally with the tree. See my earlier post for an example.

nothing wrong to point out here. But I do have a question for ya.
When was the last time you saw a game studio had an Entry Level position? I graduated from school with a pretty solid reel 7 months ago. I have not found a job yet all the studio are looking for at least 2 years experience. Very frustrating and how the hell is anyone getting these 2 years experince?

Well I canít really answer that since I have yet to work in the industry, since im temp. out of the country this year with the Army. But all I can say is keep practicing your skills, work hard, never stop learning, and remember even though they say two years, doesnít mean they wonít hire you. Donít let that stop you from trying for a job. Of course they are always going to say, this amount of years etc., but if you good and they like you then whatís to stop them from hiring you. Think of it this way when all this started they was no companies to have exp. from, or schools to go for. It was self taught, hobbies, art forms......Just try, and try again if needed, the time will come when you land a job, and you have nothing to lose...! Hope that helps,
Cheers
