View Full Version : Lattice deformations
nhytro 12-29-2003, 09:13 PM Hi all! I´m trying to get a lattic to deform an object dynamically as in the eye tutorial in this link : canimation char tut (http://canimation.com/tutorT002.html) . I have not been succesful. I could get the eye to deform, but rotating the eye is catastrophic in the sense that the eye textures would also match the rotation. Have I overseen something in C4D FFDs or I would have to try something in XPRESSO?
Thanks

things work in a parent child heirarchy in cinema. an ffd affects it's parent (and that parents other children). so, because you don't want the ffd to rotate/translate with your object, put the ffd and the eye inside a null rather than putting the ffd as a child of the eye, now the ffd will affect the eye, but when you rotate the eye the ffd wont.
with regards the eye texture make sure that it's either in uv space has uv projection (or if you're using a 3d procedural that you have a stick texture tag applied to your eye)
