hi
i'v did some experiments with layerd_mixing rendering with
max & photoshop...& i want to share it with you.
the detail will post afterward.
i had these:

then i got this:

Good idea. I like it.
But I am asking myself how it would react during a camera map, because of the camera depending fresnel falloff.

it react like it's reflective chrome...i tested it! :)

this is the main trick...for reflection look-like:

then we need this too:
a high-contrast version of the shadow/light fall-offed image...

& the final composition:

Very nice. The bad thing is just, that you get some not anti-aliased lines, due to the high levels adjustment. Or am I wrong?

you are right but not about high level but because the
'difference' mixing of 2 same pictures (one normal, one inverted)
& the solution is to render the main image doubled-sized then
sized-down to half afterward.

some realyy interesting stuff here, I really prefer the las image ove the other final composite that had black in it.cool stuuf though makes me thing i should work a little more on compositing.

yeah its kindof a shame its not getting that much recognition. I really like it though, has a sort of air brushed feel to it. looks awesome to me, I have learned a bit from it thanks.

You've done some pretty interesting stuff with some simple layering.

I really like the high contrast version (leveled). It has a nice graphic look, similar to Frank Miller's Sin City comics.

Keep on experimenting!
