CGTalk - Extrude problems

Hello,

I've got a bit of a problem and was hoping someone could help me out.

I have a quad patch edited to match the profile of a car, I want to extrude this out to do the rest of it.

My problem is where I had welded verts the extrude pushes those points in an opposite direction then the rest of the polys.

What did I do wrong to cause this and is it fixable?

Check normals. This could be there.
