View Full Version : Lighting & Raytrace: Candle Noise
FireLotus 12-29-2003, 12:56 AM Raytracing in Maya 4.5 some candlelight onto a stucco wall. Within a distance of the light source, everything is reasonable... outside this radius there is a very random noise being projected. How is this happening and what can I do to fix it? So far I've been tweaking my light settings and raytrace opts, raytrace globals, and the sconce shader... some things lead to improvement, but I still end up with the annoying noise.

raytrace all around. Currently have only the candlelight as the only active light in the scene, so I know something is up with it.
Try to increase the number of rays of the raytrace shadows.
