View Full Version : Head with sas full version
arcus 12-28-2003, 07:40 PM After testing sas with a cat model. I have now
made every single hair on this head with sas fur mode.
I used only weight maps to control the fur.
Skin is only simple shader with bump.

Arcus,
that looks REALLY great!!
How about adding a body to him?

Personally I think your hair is looking too soft overall, especially the facial hair. I've never seen a man with such a soft beard (although I think it would be nice if men's beards were so soft!) :)
Try increasing the coarseness setting ;)
You might also want to increase the specularity of the hair to give it a little more shine.

Thanks Leigh and Dan for your comments.
The head was an older model I used to learn
sasquatch. I will model the body if I have enough
time. LW is still my hobby.
Leigh, I will play with coarseness and send a
new picture. The soft look is also a result of
jpeg compression.
I have to say that I was surprised how easy sas
is to use.

I have to disagree with Leigh.
My wife has never complained about any coarseness!
Nice work. I'm thinking about getting Sas full soon, it looks like a lot of fun

Hehe, well when it gets a little longer than that the coarseness isn't bad, it's when it's really short and stubbly that it's... erm a little scratchy at times :p
And yeah, arcus, Sasquatch is incredible easy to use :D When I first got it I was like "Oh my god there are too many settings!!!" and then I read through the manual and played around and was amazed at how quickly you can get results. Using it with weight maps is the best :D
