View Full Version : Plants by the thousands, any advice out there...

I am doing a very large scene at the moment. But I need plant life, exotic as can be, in fact even alien type plant life is OK. Are there any lower type poly count solutions out there. I need tons of plants, thus I need lower poly count type plants. Any solutions??? X-FROG exotic creations perhaps?? :) :shrug:

It's procedural tree generator with many switches so you can achieve very low or very high (of course :) poly count. In its tree library are also some fantastic trees. The main drawback of this soft is that it's impossible to make your own tree from scratch - just you must use library.
You can try it - I don't know if that's what you are looking for.

Emm.....that plugin isn't supposed to be free. I'd advise not to download that:shame:

I don't know if your need those plants for a still or for animation. If you need it for a still, you could check out Forest pack Lite. It's a stripped version and for free. You can download it here: http://www.itoosoft.com/english/frameset.html

It's very light, very much control and it just works very fast. You can use it for animation if you want to, but it becomes very unrealistic.

how far away will the camera be?

Try Xfrog www.xfrog.com.

They currently have a fully working version of their software (v3.5)for testing up to 30 days. It's a powerful tree/plant generator that is used by some major studios like ILM, etc.

Study for a day and you can use the remaining days to generated your thousand trees.

i install treeStorm but my 3dStudio close without any warning after the secund render !! where's the problem ??:annoyed:
