View Full Version : DGS shader alpha channel behaviour
Hi there;
I use about everyday DGS Shaders and found disgusting the lack of alpha information, those shaders appear as a black hole in the alpha channel and would want to know how can I change this in order not to obtain an useless alpha map, could you guys help me?
Thank´s in advance.

I found this topic on highend3d.com but i havn't read it yet so i'm not sure if it asnwers your question.
But the sounds just like what you need.
DGS materials and alpha channels (http://www.highend3d.com/boards/showflat.php?Cat=1,2&Board=MayaMR&Number=142779&page=12&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=0&fpart=)
Btw. if somone know how to connect a bump map and a color map to the dgs node without using any of the DGS channels i would be very very happy :)

check "pass surface color to alpha" (or something like that, don't have maya at hand) in the render globals

brunner is right, and that option is under the Custom Entities section of the Render Globals.
