hi, i have this problem on a raytraced surface....

i animated this camera going around this flat poly surface and the reflections would be normal for a few frames, and then part of the surface will start creating new reflections. its a change over one frame but continuous for other frames depending on the angle of the camera.

this is probably an issue easily resolved just by tweaking the raytracing settings but i've been trying to figure this out for days.

any suggestions?

hello? doesnt seem like a lot of people visit this forum......especially if my post is still on the front page after 5 days, heh.

but here is a shot........i circled the problem areas. whenever the camera moves, the reflections start to differentiate.

its as if only certain parts of the geometry will reflect when im at a certain angle

you didnt show a edgeframe(wires) of those areas but....

1.you might need to adjust the normals
play around with that and see if it helps

2.triangulate maybe,see if that helps

3.i would recommend useing nurbs, they seem better in spots like this and you can crank up the tesselation for rendering while keeping a simple object in ur work area

i'd say its something to do with non-planers tho
